NUTCRACKER REHEARSALS – DEC. 6, 7, 8 (09)

This is extremely important.

All rehearsals are mandatory – period.

Only documented illness is an excuse.

For the three days of rehearsal, the casts below will begin the rehearsal in costume.  Others should be in dancewear, but with hair done properly. No make-up for the Sunday rehearsal. Full make-up for Monday and Tuesday.  Ringlets are needed for Daisies, Roses, and “girls” in Poppy and Violet. If you do not know how to do it, ask any mom who already has done them.  You’ll soon be an expert!

WHETHER YOU ARE CURRENTLY DANCING OR NOT, YOU MUST BE THERE FOR ALL PARTS OF THE REHEARSAL INVOLVING YOUR PART, PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE  REHEARSAL.

Do not leave until you are dismissed. Sections may be repeated.  Here are the cast assignments for the dress rehearsals. This means only that the noted cast is the one in costume.

*Please note: the numeric designations such as Green (#1) only refer to the solo roles that are quadruple cast, so are divided into #1 and #2 as well as Red and Green. Those in group dances only refer to either Green or Red. Your dancer knows what they are.

Sunday,  Dec. 6 at CAPA:

Green Cast (#1) – ALL PARTICIPANTS FROM ALL CASTS, BOTH RED AND GREEN

MUST BE PRESENT (Green Cast in Costume)

Monday, Dec. 7 at Campolindo PAC:  Red Cast (#1) followed by Red Cast (#2)

ALL PARTICIPANTS FROM ALL CASTS MUST BE PRESENT (Red Cast in costume)

Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Campolindo PAC:  Green Cast (#2) after CONCERTO. Hopefully, if time  – Green #1 can run their sections as well. (Green Cast in costume)

TIMES LISTED BELOW NOTE WHEN ACTUAL REHEARSAL BEGINS.  YOU MUST BE READY TO DANCE AT THAT TIME.  AS IN ALL PRODUCTIONS, WE EXPECT PERFORMERS TO BE AT THE LOCATION 30 MINUTES AHEAD OF THE LISTED TIME IN ORDER TO PREPARE.

We will try very hard to be on time as much as possible, but this is a REHEARSAL, and can be unpredictable. We have far fewer required rehearsals than any other NUTCRACKER. Please understand if we are running a somewhat off schedule – we’ll do the very best we can, but we must get it right!

NO CAPA OWNED COSTUMES MAY BE TAKEN HOME WITHOUT THE EXPRESS PERMISSION OF THE DIRECTOR.  ALL COSTUMES MUST BE RETURNED TO THEIR PROPER, NAMED, RACK AND HANGAR TO AWAIT THE NEXT DANCER TO USE THAT COSTUME.  FAILURE TO OBEY THIS IMPORTANT RULE, THEREBY LEAVING THE NEXT DANCER WITHOUT HER COSTUME, WILL RESULT IN A $200 FINE.

Sunday,  Dec. 6 at CAPA: Full Dress Rehearsal of Nutcracker at CAPA. THIS INCLUDES ALL PARTICIPANTS, ALL GROUP DANCES, BOTH CASTS – NO CONCERTO. Arrive at 12:00 noon.

Be ready to dance at 12:30 for Act. 1. Be ready to dance at 3:00 for Act. 2.

It does not matter if your cast is in costume, or if you THINK your part is finished.   Do not leave until dismissed. Stay in Studio A.

There are NO observers except for ONE adult per dancers under 10.  No siblings or anyone else. Quiet must be observed. ALTHOUGH ONLY ONE CAST IS IN COSTUME, BOTH CASTS WILL DANCE (HOPEFULLY!).
