CAPA Ensemble/Company Contract 2009-2010
I ____________________________________agree to the following standards and rules as a member of the following Ensemble, Production and or Ballet Company (please list all). _________________________________________________________________________________________
· I will fulfill all obligations of my team, including attendance at all required classes, rehearsals, performances and competitions (where applicable), unless excused by the director (not the teacher) for a valid reason.
· I agree to participate for the entire dance year. A dancer that drops out of ensemble/ballet company will not be permitted to join and ensemble/company in the future. Also any Senior that drops out of an ensemble/ballet company or drops a required class for those groups will not be permitted to perform a Senior Solo.
· I understand that my participation in dances or parts of dances can be affected if I am absent because of illness or not dancing because of injury. If I am away for too long a period, I understand that I may have to leave the group permanently for the good of the team.
· If injured, I understand that I am expected to attend class and watch ACTIVELY within the dance room.
· I understand that I must manage my time wisely. Dancers CAN fit in all schoolwork if they plan wisely. Homework or upcoming tests are not a valid excuse for absence.
· I understand that the director and my teacher can remove me from my group if standards are not followed.
· I will show respect for my fellow team members and my teachers, and for the discipline of dance.
· I will always remember that I represent CAPA and am a role model for my peers and younger students as well. I will conduct myself at all times in my behavior, language and appearance to reflect this responsibility.
· NEW: CAPA AND THE INTERNET – Because emails and sites such as (but not limited to) MY SPACE & FACEBOOK can be seen and read by many and can never really be gotten rid of, I agree that I will not write or infer anything negative about a fellow CAPA dancer or a family member. This rule applies to Ensemble and Company parents as well. Proof of disregarding this rule will result in dismissal from the ensemble or company. My parents and I fully understand the need for this new policy in today’s electronic world.
· If planning or discussing a party or giving gifts that do NOT include all of my team members, I will refrain from dealing with this while at CAPA or CAPA activities.
· I will come to my classes on time, DRESSED PROPERLY, and be ready and willing to work.
· I will always strive to do my very best in class and in performance.
· I will practice at home in order to know all my dances, parts and steps, and to improve my technique.
· I will accept teacher and staff corrections as intended to help me, and will work diligently to improve.
· I will take good care of any and all costumes or props given or lent to me, and my costumes will always be in good repair and appearance.
· Parents agree to fulfill all financial and support requirements and agree to assist dancer in fulfilling all the responsibilities listed above.
· Parents agree, at all times, to help to maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere and to refrain from negative comments and actions concerning other dancers or parents.
· Parents and dancers agree to carefully read and follow all correspondence concerning participation at CAPA and to keep CAPA aware of any changes in email or telephone contacts.
* An ensemble fee is required for participation. For 2009-10 this fee is $150 for one ensemble or ballet company. For two or more the fee is $200. For each additional child in a family in ensemble the added cost is $100 for a child with one ensemble/company or $150 for a child with multi ensemble/companies.
