CAPA’S STUDIO PERFORMANCES

JUNE SHOW:  All students at CAPA have the opportunity to participate in our June Show. This community tradition is an exciting and fun adventure for both performer and audience. Preparations begin after the Winter Holiday with choreography and costume selections. The performances are generally scheduled for the week after the public schools let out for the summer. Dates will be on our website as soon as they are finalized.  CAPA families have learned through the years that this is “CAPA WEEK” and make their vacation plans accordingly. Commitments include the rehearsals which are mandatory as well as current payments for classes and costumes. A minimum ticket purchase is required of all students. Generally, there are three separate shows, A, B and C, and each has two performance days. Therefore, every class performs at least twice.

REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE POLICY:  Whether the June Show or our Ensemble Holiday Performances, attendance at all scheduled rehearsals is mandatory.  Dates are posted on the website months is advance, and no student may perform in ANY performance unless she performs in ALL the performances scheduled for her group.

HOLIDAY PERFORMANCES AND NUTCRACKER:  Our Ensembles and Companies also participate in our annual December Holiday offering. We produce a full length, narrated version of the classical favorite, the “NUTCRACKER.”  This December tradition is very professional, great fun for all and should be a “must” for family and friends on your Holiday calendar.  Four Student Matinees (organized as school field trips) plus four public performances are held. Two of the evening performances also include the “Dancers Concerto” featuring our Ensemble Division.
